We are proud to have kept our delivered projects very cheap during the Second Chance years, helping 7,034 individuals with under 50.000 USD per year. Cheap programs are most suitable to being scaled. In accordance to U.S. Law, for budgets under 50.000 USD we are required to file IRS form 990-N (e-Postcard), and annual state reports in the State of New Hampshire (NH) where we are registered.

Why am I redirected to Razoo to make a donation?
Razoo is a secure platform to process donations and give our supporters an opportunity to start fundraising campaigns for us. We choose Razoo because of their low processing fee rates per donation (4% Razoo platform fee + 2.9% + 30¢ credit card fee).
Is my donation tax-deductible?
We are a USA-based 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, and donations by American residents and citizens are tax-deductible. When you make us a donation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with details of your transaction. Please keep that e-mail as your receipt record for tax purposes.
Can I see a copy of your financial reports? Absolutely.

How much is your staff paid?
Over the years, we maintained an average salary base for our Liberian staff at $500USD/month. We want them to be able to afford good schools for their children (their #1 request), and come to work happy. Our beneficiaries' mental health is directly impacted by theirs.
Please note that only our Liberian staff has received compensation or stipends to date. While that may be subjected to change as our organization grows and expands our projects to new countries, we will always prioritise employment opportunities for locals.
How much of my donation goes to programs?
Future funding to fulfil SYNC's research goals will be invested in equipment, ethics review applications and fees, and local research staff staff salary and transportation costs.
In the past, every donation amount that came in went directly to projects, except for the following deductions:
- Razoo donation processing fees.
- Money transfer fees between continents.
- American and international banking fees.
- Legal compliance fees for filling state reports.
- Monrovia office rental (2011-2013).
- Local Liberian staff salaries.
Our administrative costs in the USA are extremely low except for such fees. Friends of SYNC have stepped up to provide us free working spaces, so we decided early on that it would be a best use of resources to establish a headquarters in Africa and avoid expensive American rental fees.
